         <title>North Dakota’s K-12 Participation in Read Around the Planet is on the Rise!</title>
         <description><![CDATA[<p>February 25 - March 4, 2008 twenty-five North Dakota teachers and their students traveled around the globe virtually with the use of interactive video equipment connecting classroom to classroom around the world.  Activities included reading a favorite book, skits, plays, raps or songs. This years' total number of registered classrooms hit an all time high of nearly 1,650 which is an impact of approximately 50,000 students.<br />

         <title>Student to Student – Thoughts on Emergency Preparedness from Two Midwestern Towns Struck by Tornadoes in 2007</title>
         <description><![CDATA[<p>On Tuesday, March 11 elementary and high school students from Northwood, ND will interact in a live videoconference with students in Greensburg Kansas, Nebraska, Missouri and Oklahoma when they discuss the impact of a major natural disaster on their small Midwestern towns. The purpose of the event is to bring students together to discuss their experiences and share similarities and differences in the recovery efforts in each town. Classes from participating states will communicate in real time through interactive videoconferencing available at their school. In addition, the live videoconference will be streamed live and also recorded for later viewing. Both versions will be available on the <a href="http://www.more.net/services/videostreaming/events.html">MOREnet Live Video Streaming</a> site.</p>]]></description>

         <title>Seats Still Available in Upcoming EduTech Workshops Offered by Video</title>
         <description><![CDATA[<p>EduTech continues to offer workshops on a range of topics from basic skills to curriculum integration. Workshops are offered over Stagenet Video Network on week nights from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Central time. The cost is $35.00 per participant per workshop. Graduate credit is available (for an additional charge) as each participant completes a series of four workshops. <em>Schools are always welcome to request workshops be delivered either face-to-face or by videoconference.</em><br />

         <title>April is Jazz Appreciation Month </title>
         <description><![CDATA[<p>April has been designated as "Jazz Appreciation Month" by the Smithsonian National Museum of American History in cooperation with various music education groups and organizations.  </p>

<p>The purpose of this celebration is to raise public awareness about the impact of jazz on music history, to appreciate the figures of jazz and to encourage young people to become jazz musicians.</p>]]></description>
