Read Around the Planet is a celebration of NEA's Read Across America. Classrooms use interactive video to connect with other classrooms "around the planet" and read to each other. The activity is sponsored by TWICE and Polycom, in cooperation with NEA. TWICE provides the registration tool, matches classrooms with partners, and provides support documents.

Get ready for an adventure across North Dakota – Read Across North Dakota! Use interactive video to connect your class with a class from a different area of North Dakota, and read to each other. Your students will connect by video in the Read Across North Dakota event with another classroom in North Dakota. The activity is organized by EduTech.

The Megaconferences

Original vision and goals of the Megaconference and Megaconference Jr. events have been met. As technologies and management have changed, updates for the future of these events are needed. The Virtual Cell is a virtual multi-user space where students "fly" around and practice being cell biologists in a role-based, goal-oriented environment.
Live...from the Heart

Four classrooms will have amazing field trip opportunity. The Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago will take you live to the operating room at Advocate Christ Medical Center. While the surgical team performs an open heart bypass procedure, students will be able to ask questions about the surgery, learn how to keep a heart healthy and find out what it takes to have a career in the operating room.
COSI Live Surgical Suite: Total Knee Replacement

Fifteen classrooms have an opportunity to experience a live knee replacement surgery performed by an orthopedic surgeon from Mount Carmel Health System in Ohio. Students will be able to ask questions of the surgeon and medical staff.
