Teachers Get your Students Ready for an Adventure Across North Dakota!

Teachers are invited to participate in the fourth annual Read Across North Dakota (RAND). RAND is open to K-12 students who have access to H.323 (IP) videoconference equipment.

Now in its fourth year, RAND is modeled after the international RAP event but includes only K12 classes in North Dakota. If you and your students have never participated in either event, then consider RAND a wonderful way to get started! And if you'd like to step up to RAP but aren't sure if you'll be ready, then register for both events and consider using RAND as a great way to prepare your class for the RAP event later in February. Either way you're providing your students with an awesome way to celebrate reading and literacy with another classroom!

This activity was designed to give students in elementary and secondary schools around the state the opportunity to read to each other, collaborate and contribute to each other's learning in real time, using advanced multi-point video conferencing technology. There is no cost to participate. Interactive video classroom-to-classroom connections will take place on January 28-29, 2009. Each connection is scheduled for one hour. Registration deadline is January 7th. Register Now! For questions contact your EduTech Regional ITS or Kari Sauer at 1.800.804.8550.
