Configuring WS-FTP

  1. Open WS-FTP and a Session Properties window will open up.
  2. Click on the General tab.
  3. In the Profile Name box, type in a name for your site.
  4. In the Host Name/Address box, type in the domain name that was emailed to you. Example www.test.k12.nd.us or www2.edutech.nodak.edu. Be sure to use the one that was emailed to you.
  5. The next is Host Type. Leave it as Automatic Detect
  6. Next to User ID, type in your login.
  7. The next box asks for your Password. You don’t have to enter it here if you don’t want to save your password. It will prompt you each time for your password when trying to login to your website. If you do want it to save it, enter your password and check the box to the right for Save Pwd.
  8. Click on the Startup tab
  9. Under Initial Remote Site Folder type /htdocs
  10. Click Apply and OK.
