EduMail Advanced

EduMail Advanced is a Web-based suite of applications to handle many of your communication needs. It goes well beyond being a simple Web-based e-mail client and includes:

  • Powerful and flexible Web-based e-mail available in a traditional interface, a dynamic drag and drop enabled interface, and a minimalist interface geared towards use on mobile phones and other handheld devices
  • A robust address book that stores many types of information for your contacts including birthdays and calendar availability
  • Shared calendars allowing you to schedule events, meetings and activities as well as share your calendar with others
  • Shared task lists that can be used as mini project planners. Task lists are not just "to do" lists, they can also show up on your calendar, be shared with others and contain other tasks. Why settle for a single task that says "Write History Paper" when you can have additional sub-tasks like "Get books from library", "research online", "write draft", etc… each with their own deadlines?
  • Shared notes to help manage your thoughts. They're like electronic sticky notes. Just a quick place to jot some things down. But since they're electronic, they can be categorized, sorted and shared with others if necessary

Because it is a suite of applications, these programs all work together! For example, you can receive an email message from a teacher with a project or an assignment. Then you can easily turn it into a task with a due date, display the due date of the assignment on your calendar, and then share the task with others.

EduMail Advanced is based on the Horde Collaboration Suite, an open source programming project.
