Forwarding E-mail

Many users have e-mail accounts from multiple systems such as their home ISP, a university or state agency, etc. To simply management of these multiple e-mail addresses, it is possible to cause mail sent to one e-mail address to be automatically forwarded to another.

Let's say that Jane Doe has three e-mail accounts:

  • Jane.Doe@sendit.nodak.edu
  • jadoe@university.nodak.edu
  • JaneDoe2192@aol.com

If she choses, she may have mail sent to jadoe@university.nodak.edu and JaneDoe2192@aol.com automatically redirected to her SENDIT address. She would have to contact technical support for her University and AOL in order to configure her e-mail on those systems.

If instead she choses to have her SENDIT mail sent to one of the other systems, she would log into User Resources and click on "Mail Delivery". You will be told where your SENDIT mail is currently being delivered. Click the "Specify a Different Maildrop" button to enter the address where you wish to redirect your SENDIT mail. Once you click the "Request that your maildrop be changed" button, all mail coming to your SENDIT address will be sent to the location you specified.

NOTE: If you have your SENDIT mail forwarded to another location, you will no longer be able to log into the WebMail program.

To remove mail forwarding and resume using your SENDIT account to receive mail, log into User Resources and click on "Mail Delivery". You will be told where your SENDIT mail is currently being delivered and will be given the option to stop redirecting mail.
