About EduTech Web Hosting
Many K-12 schools and organizations in North Dakota wish to have a web presence, but do not have the time or staff to manage and secure their own web server. EduTech is happy to help by providing web hosting services free to all K-12 schools and educational organizations in North Dakota.
When you request web hosting service from EduTech you will receive the following:
- 100 MB of webspace (free) which can be expanded in 25 MB blocks for a small yearly fee. The current fee is $25/25 meg/year.
- A domain for your school registered to direct traffic to our webhosting server. (schools only)
- Instructions allowing you to configure any FTP capable web publishing program to deliver content to your webspace.
- More detailed configuration support if you choose to use Macromedia Dreamweaver, Fetch or WS_FTP to publish.
- Basic support for HTML questions
- When your website is published, you may request your school’s website be added to our ND School Websites page.
To Request Web Space
Please read the EduTech Web Hosting Policy for an outline of acceptible use and responsiblities. Then simply fill in and submit the web hosting agreement form. Your web master will be contacted when your doman and web space is ready for use.
To Check Disk Space Currently Used
If you wish to check the disk space that your web site is currently using click the the following: webquota program.
Uploading Instructions
EduTech supports the following web design and publishing tools:
- Macromedia Dreamweaver (Windows and Macintosh)
- Fetch (Mac OS Classic)
- Transmit (Mac OS X)
- WS_FTP LE (Windows)
Although any program capable of transmitting data via FTP will work, EduTech will only provide instructions and configuration support for the above programs.
