Digital Photos

Digital photography has become a useful tool for students and teachers in the classroom. There are classroom connections such as using photos to prompt descriptive writing, posting photos on school web sites, class books, field trip photos, creating class archives and dozens of others.

There are countless online photo companies and digital photo resources to help with anything from digital camera selection to classroom integration ideas. In the extended entry are some resources to consider.

Writing Activities

"Give your students the opportunity to write and do art every day!" This is what Linda Holcomb, professor at Valley City State University, use to tell us, as students and preservice teachers. This became something that proved to be of value in showing student progress as well as insight to students moods. Many times even understanding where they were coming from that particular day or period of time is reflected in their creations .

See the extended entry for links to various examples of writing activities for students.

Designing Classroom Newsletters

Giving students a purpose for writing by targeting an audience is a definite motivator for students. What better audience than a world wide one? In the extended entry are links that support this approach to learning.
