Security Reminder: Do Not Give Out EduTech Account Information
Do Not Give Out EduTech Account Information
Do not give out your EduTech account information or any other personal or financial information over e-mail. For some time now, criminals, known as phishers, have been targeting EduTech accounts with e-mails asking for details such as usernames, passwords, birth dates, etc. They send these e-mails out pretending to be from EduTech. We want to remind you that EduTech will never request this information because we don't need it.
Forward Phishing E-mails to EduTech
If you receive a phishing e-mail, DO NOT REPLY. Please forward the e-mail to the EduTech help desk at sendit.helpdesk@sendit.nodak.edu and then delete it.
If You Have Replied, Change Your Password
If you have replied with your account information to one of these e-mails, immediately change your password on your EduTech account and on any other accounts for which you use that password. Never re-use that password and be sure to create secure passwords that are six to eight characters in length and contain a mixture of upper and lowercase letters, as well as numbers and symbols (please avoid using %, #, ", !, or ').
EduTech Locks Accounts for Protection
If EduTech should learn that one of our users has replied to a phishing e-mail, the account is locked and the password is changed to protect both the account and our systems. The account's building facilitator is the person to contact to unlock it and get a new password.
