Great Plains Technology Conference
October 8–9, 2007
Students are invited to participate in the Great Plains Technology Conference hosted by Senator Byron Dorgan and delivered by videoconference on October 8–9, 2007. This year's conference offers a variety of workshop sessions and conference topic tracks for students. Tracks are filled with content tailored to individual professional areas of interest. 2007 conference tracks include Business Management, Information Technology, Sales and Marketing and Great Plains Issues.
This year, to encourage statewide participation, middle and high school classes are invited to attend several sessions by videoconference.
Classes can participate in three ways:
- Live interactive videoconference connection to the actual session (scroll down to register online)
- Live videoconference - view only (scroll down to register online)
- View archived streams of each session – Available following the close of conference activities
Scheduling Your Technology Conference Event
Middle and high school students who have access to H.323 (IP) videoconference equipment are eligible to participate. Before scheduling your event it is very important that you:
- Confirm with your tech coordinator and videoconference site coordinator on whether or not the room and videoconference equipment is available and reserved for the date and time of your event. Make sure your tech coordinator and videoconference site coordinator are available for the event and any test calls needed prior to the event
- Confirm there are no conflicts with your school's standardized testing, vacation and other school or community functions
- Check to see that other teachers in the building aren't signing up for the same time as you
- Confirm once again that you have technical support available for the date and time(s) you are signing up for. This step is critical to the success of your participation!
