Congratulations to the Legislative Showcase Teams!

Eleven North Dakota K-12 classroom finalists will participate in the 2009 K-12 Legislative Education Technology Showcase being held in conjunction with North Dakota's 61st Legislative Assembly March 3, 2009 in the Great Hall of the Capitol building in Bismarck, North Dakota.

In December 2008 North Dakota schools teams were invited to submit an application highlighting their use of education technology. Applications were screened according to a list of criteria that demonstrate education technology projects in which students are interacting and engaged with technology in an exciting and unique way. North Dakota Legislators have been invited to visit each school booth technology demonstration. Demonstrations will begin at 9:00 am and run until 2:00 pm on Tuesday, March 3, 2009.

Participating Schools are:

  • Jeanette Myhre Elementary, Bismarck – Web 2.0 in the Classroom (Chad Even)
  • Wachter Middle School, Bismarck – Web 2.0 in the Classroom (Benjamin Lervick)
  • Sheyenne Valley Area CTC – PC Construction (Frank Egan)
  • NDSU/Powers Lake High School – Remote Instrumentation SEM (Kim Owen, Roberta Rystedt)
  • Ashley Public – Kindergarten Imagineers (Kristi Andersen)
  • Turtle Mountain Community HS – Environmental Chemistry Utilizing iMovie (Renee Aalund)
  • McClusky Public School – ND Current Issues Utilizing Ezedia Presentation Software (Roberta Froehlich)
  • Fairmount Public School – 1:1 Initiative Utilizing DyKnow Software (Yolanda Luick)
  • Burlington-Des Lacs Elementary – The Theory of Blogging (Kayla Anderson)
  • Hazelton-Moffit-Braddock – GIS/GPS (Tami Naaden)
  • Grand Forks – Connect Students with Government (Darin King / Darlene Johnson)
