Happy 50th Birthday NASA!

On October 1st NASA celebrated its 50th birthday and because it is such a momentous occasion, the US Distance Learning Association, Polycom and the Discovery joined forces to throw a big party and the party has just begun.

On Thursday, November 13, selected interactive sites will be connected every hour (10 hours or more) to one of NASA's Distance Learning Network sites. Each of the ten sections will have the following collaboration: DLN coordinator, NASA engineer or scientist, a U.S. school, an international school, and Discovery. One of the new Discovery Channel documentary videos will be shared followed by a live interactive lesson with a NASA scientist or engineer. Either at the beginning or end (not yet determined) the two interactive schools will have 5 minutes to present happy birthday wishes indicative of their culture, to NASA.

Currently all interactive sites have been selected however the event, all 10 hours or more, will be streamed by video for North Dakota classroom viewing. For instructions on how to view the stream go to DLiNfo link and click on the DLiNfo channel link located on the left side of the page. The player will appear automatically on your page.
