Classrooms Needed to Help Celebrate Literacy - Participate in Read Across the Planet!

Do your students have a favorite story, a skit, a poem or other literary works they would enjoy sharing with other students and would they like to learn about another classroom in another state or even another country? If you answered yes then you will want to check out this tailor made event just for your classroom!

EduTech is pleased to announce we will again facilitate the ever popular Read Across the Planet (RAP) literacy event scheduled for February 23rd through March 6, 2009. Now in its seventh year the event, through the use of real time live point-to-point videoconferencing technology between classrooms, connects students around the world by celebrating literacy through sharing their favorite story, skit, poem or literacy works.

There is no cost to participate . Once registered, a class match to a similar classroom somewhere in the U.S. or another country will be done and on the day of your RAP event, a one-hour videoconference connection between classrooms will be made for sharing a favorite piece of literature and learning more about each other.

Test calls and rehearsals will be required for all participants to ensure quality video and audio. Teachers! Please make sure to read the RAP Teacher Instructions for information on helping you and your class prepare for your RAP event!

Check out the RAP site to learn more about this event and view archived events at TWICE.
